Sardar Vallabhbhai was elected Secretary of the Gujarat Sabha, the Indian National Congress’s Gujarat branch, in 1917. In 1918, he organized a huge “No Tax Campaign” that solved the issue of farmers refusing to pay taxes after the British imposed on them after the Kaira floods.

Patel became India’s first Home Minister and Deputy Prime Minister after the country’s independence. He was a key figure in post-independence India, effectively bringing together 562 princely kingdoms under the Indian Dominion.

The British government had given these monarchs two options: join India or Pakistan, or remain independent. This phrase exaggerated the process’s complexity to epic dimensions. Sardar Patel, who began pushing for integration on August 6, 1947, was not trusted by Congress with this difficult job.

With the exception of Jammu and Kashmir, Junagarh, and Hyderabad, he was successful in integrating all of them. With his keen political acumen, he ultimately dealt with the issue and secured their admission. The India that we see now is the product of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s efforts.
